A strong first half wasn’t enough to carry the P-C-M Mustangs to victory last night. 4th ranked C-M-B gave P-C-M their toughest test of the season and came up with a 31-14 win. The Mustangs jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the 1st quarter with a Joe Gilson 17 yard touchdown reception. After a blocked punt put the Raiders on the P-C-M one yard line, C-M-B capitalized with a one yard touchdown run from Ethan Schmidt and missed the point after. The Raiders followed with a 42 yard touchdown pass to Dylan Hansen, and converted the two point conversion to make it 14-7. Joe Gilson would score the final touchdown for P-C-M, with a thunderous 16 yard touchdown run late in the 1st half, tying the game at 14. The Raiders snuck in a field goal in the closing seconds of the 1st half and would not give up the lead, and added two more touchdowns in the 2nd half. The loss drops P-C-M to 1 and 3 overall and an 0-2 record in district play. The Mustangs host Bondurant-Ferrar next week in a crucial game to potentially revitalize the season.
