Today through the 23rd is the beginning of the waterfowl season, and hunters need to make sure their boats and equipment is functional, their decoys float and their ammo is ready before heading out on the waters. That’s according to Iowa State Conservation Officer John Mertz. Mertz adds youth deer season begins today and runs through October 4th. In related news, aside from clearing any blockages from muzzles, Mertz says hunters must make sure their camouflage is in good condition. He says time tends to wear down the orange color on hunter gear.
