Central volleyball played in somewhat unfamiliar territory last night…at home… but managed to hold off Coe College 3-2. It marked the home opener for the Dutch after a vigourous 14 game road stretch to start the season. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead the Dutch had to hold off a strong Coe surge as they stormed back to take the next two sets and was up 3-0 in the fifth before the resurgent Dutch took a 3-0 deficit, turned it into a 12-6 lead and took the match 25-18, 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 15-11. Central gets a rare weekend off then returns to Iowa Conference play Tuesday hosting Cornell.
