Pella Christian defeated Knoxville in a battle for unbeatens in the Little Hawkeye Conference last night 22/25, 25/14, 25/17, and 25/21. Eagles Coach John Evenhouse said after some adjustments in between games one and two…his team played better at the net. Eagles setter Bekkah Posthuma had 40 assists, Meredith Fopma had 13 kills, Courtney Kroeze had 12 and Jenna Horstman tallied ten. Paige Zylstra had seven blocks and Jasmin Schelhaus had 21 digs. Pella Christian improved to 9-6 overall and 3-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, the Eagles head to Oskaloosa tomorrow night. Meanwhile, Knoxville Coach Eric Fee Pella Christian took Mandi Deutch out of the match after game one by using double and sometimes triple blocks. Deutsch did have 16 kills on the night while Kaylee Shelford and Alissa Deutsch both were 15-for-15 serving. Knoxville is now 8-7 on the season and drops to three-and-one in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers are off until Saturday when they head to the Southeast Polk Invitational.
