Hundreds of volunteers are moving into Knoxville Saturday, as part of a “service surge” organized by “A Call To Serve” or ACTS, Ministries of Iowa and a city planning committee. Joel Bennett, co-founder and executive director of ACTS, says the “surge” will see the volunteers spread out across town doing scraping and painting projects, a dry walling project, construction of a wheelchair ramp, and general property clean-up, among other projects.
