Jeremy Snead tied a school record with 12 pass receptions as the Central College football team rolled up 455 yards and handed Coe College its first defeat Saturday, 24-6, before a sun-drenched homecoming crowd. Snead had 10 catches in the first half and finished with 137 yards and two touchdowns. He tied the single-game mark of 12 catches set in 1974. Central also got 123 yards rushing on 22 carries from running back David Zachary . After not reaching the 100-yard mark in his first three seasons, Zachary has now topped it three times in four games. Central’s quarterback tandem of Nate Snead and Zack Bandow was clicking as well, combining to complete 25 of 32 passes for 259 yards and two scores. Meanwhile the Dutch defense recorded four quarterback sacks while limiting Coe to 199 yards of offense. Central improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in teh Iowa Conference. The Dutch stay home next Saturday as Cornell College visits for a 1 p.m. conference game at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium.
