The flu shot clinic at the Knoxville Senior Center originally scheduled for today has been postponed to a later date, due to the delay of the shipment of flu vaccines. Marion County Public Health officials say this is not a shortage, but rather the early push for residents to get a flu shot saw a surge of people getting vaccinated immediately. Knoxville Hospital & Clinics and Pella Regional Health Center say they also have gone through their first shipments of the flu vaccine, with the second shipment set to be delivered next month, and they will contact KNIA/KRLS first with any flu vaccine updates. Health officials encourage residents to continue to wash their hands, stay home when sick, and cover their coughs.
