A newly-established Knoxville Library Endowment Fund is a great benefit for the community, and paved the way for other people to donate. That’s according to Mike Lane, chair of the Knoxville Heritage Foundation. He says the fund, with $25,000 donated from longtime-residents Margaret and Don Long, now enables residents to deduct 20% of any contributions they make to the Knoxville Library Endowment fund on their Iowa income tax statements. The Knoxville heritage Foundation recently became an affiliate with the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, and was able to establish the funds under the Endow Iowa program.
