Pella won the Knoxville Volleyball Invitational with an undefeated record. It wasn’t easy though as they were forced to play without three players after the first two matches including two starters due to the All State Band competition which left them with a lineup they only practiced with once during practice. In pool play Pella swept ADM and Atlantic and beat Grinnell in three games which advanced them into the championship bracket where they beat Iowa Falls/Alden then met Atlantic again in the finals and swept them to win the championship. Hali Steenhoek had 59 kills and 15 blocks on the day, Brooke Fessler had 123 assists to go along with 16 kills and 12 ace serves, and Lindsay Bentzinger had 56 digs. Pella improved to 35-5 on the season and will close the regular season tomorrow at Oskaloosa. The Lady Dutch have already clinched the LHC title but can finish conference play undefeated with a win tomorrow. Knoxville went 1-2 in its pool with a win over Albia and losses to Pella Christian and Iowa Falls. Pella Christian was 2-1 in pool play with victories over Albia and Knoxville and a loss to Iowa Falls.
