Almost the same number of eligible voters in Marion County turned out to the polls Tuesday as in the 2007 mayoral and city council elections. County Auditor Jake Grandia says 14.21% of 15,853 registered voters participated in the democratic process this week, slightly down from the 14.51% in 2007, despite having 268 more registered voters this year. Grandia says the election itself went smoothly for workers, and says he always wants to see an increase in voter turnout.
