The cheerleading squad from Pella Christian High School will be one of scores of schools represented at this weekend’s Iowa High School Cheerleading Championships. Raquel DeGraas, Ashton VerShuur, Amanda Holwerda, Taeler Lanser, Taylor VanWoerkom, and Sarah Fopma make up this year’s team for the Eagles’, who are coached by Nicole Van Wyk and are competing in the “Small Class” division this year.

Coach Van Wyk says the team has been practicing many of their routines since September and will feature jumps, tumbling, stunts, dance and cheers. The competition will be held in Veteran’s Auditorium in Des Moines, with Pella Christian scheduled to perform shortly before 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
