A Pella man has been appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. Michael Olson, market president of U.S. Bank in Pella has been appointed to a four-year term on the committee, which was established in 2003 to advise the Secretary of the Treasury on the themes and designs of all U.S. coins and medals.

Olsen tells KNIA/KRLS News that he especially looks forward to considering designs for the upcoming Herbert Hoover Presidential Coin. Michael Olson is the first Iowan and the first banker to ever be appointed to the committee.
