The Holiday Season is often a time when people are more conscious of giving to their local food bank, but it also happens to be the time when those goods are in highest demand. JoNes VanHecke, director of the Pella Food Shelf says that while food donations are important, non-edible goods are always needed as well. She recommends donating items such as laundry detergent and toiletries. In related news, KNIA/KRLS will be collecting food donations Wednesday in Bussey from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during a live remote featuring the Big Red Radio at the Pella Regional Health Center Clinic. Help us fill up the Big Red Radio and together we’ll help fill the local food banks of Marion County.
