The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rock Island, Illinois, have announced a pre-solicitation of bids for a project at Lake Red Rock. Work on the project will include clearing vegetation, excavation, the placement of culverts and the construction of an asphalt-surfaced multi-use trail and parking area; along with construction of concrete retaining walls, guardrails and chain-link fencing.
The project is estimated to cost between one and five million dollars, and will utilize American Recovery and Reinvestment funds. A response date for contractors has been set for January 7, 2010.
