The Pella girls basketball team enters the 2009-2010 season needing to replace the production of three senior starters from last year’s team – including leading scorer Brooke Gritters. Fortunately for the Lady Dutch, they will return an inside/outside combo that Head Coach Jared Garland says should build on last year’s success.
”We have two returning starters, and that would be junior Makenzie Vander Molen, who plays point guard. She had a great season for us last year, and we expect her to have another solid year,” said Garland. “Also in the post, Jordyn Vande Lune is returning. This will be her third year of playing varsity minutes, so she’s going to give us great leadership and she really knows what to do down in the post.”
Garland adds that seniors Courtney Kelderman and Whitney Pavlat, and junior Lindsay Bentzinger also carry over important varsity experience from last season.
