Knoxville moved to two-and-oh on the season Saturday night with a 69-53 win over Centerville in girl’s basketball. The Panthers were led by Sam Abens with 23 points and Lacey Stevenson had 19. Knoxville is now off for the next ten days and will have the week and a half to work on a few things and get ready for the conference opener December first against Grinnell. Senior player Lacey Stevenson says communication on the court will be a big key to the team’s success. Stevenson adds Friday’s close call with A-D-M was good for the team that returns only two starters from last season’s team. She said a close game causes a team to look a lot closer at things that they need improvement on rather than a 30 or 40 point win.
