Construction and renovation work on the Long Term Care Unit at Pella Regional Health Center is making steady progress. The oldest area of Long Term care, which dates back to the early to mid 1960s, will no longer be used for residential care after December.

Mary Jo Foster, Director of Long Term Care tells KNIA/KRLS News that she is excited about several of the upgrades made as part of the renovation, including a larger and more accessible activities area, the new “restaurant-style” dining area, and a new sitting area where residents can dine and socialize with family and friends.

Currently, the unit has not been able to add new residents as rooms become open because of the construction during the remodel, but opportunities for new residents to move in as rooms are vacated will become available shortly after the beginning of the New Year.
