The Pella boys basketball team is hoping the return of several players with varsity experience in the 2009-2010 season can offset the loss of last season’s leading scorers to graduation. The Little Dutch bring back nine letterwinners this season, but lose 64% of their scoring offense from last season. Head Coach Mark Core says the number of returning letterwinners is somewhat misleading, as two players will be out for the season with injuries, and only one of those returners was a starter last year. The Pella boys begin the season next Tuesday with a Little Hawkeye Conference match-up at Newton.
