Knoxville looks to win three games in its first three as the ladies join the boys in Grinnell tonight. Knoxville has been off since a November 21st victory over Centerville. Coach Jim Utimarkt says both A-D-M and Centerville exposed a few things that the team has been working on since those games. Also, Panther guard Sam Abens can become only the second girl to join 1,000 point club in the five player era if she scores at least four points. Knoxville will open its boys basketball season tonight in Grinnell. The Panthers are looking to move up in the Little Hawkeye Conference standings but knows every game will be a challenge. Coach Brad McWilliams says for the most part the guys’ effort in Friday’s turkey shoot was good, but says a few areas need to get better. He says things like subbing in and know who players need to guard is one thing that McWilliams hopes to improve on. McWilliams ads Grinnell is a very physical team.
