The Knoxville boys won a wild, physical, and bruising game with South Tama last night 63-50. The Panthers bolted out to a 13 point lead at the half and saw the lead grow to as many as 16 points midway through the third quarter. That’s when an altercation broke out between Knoxville’s Luke Moore and South Tama’s Brody Hala. Both were ejected and then it was a race to see which team would get their composure back the quickest. South Tama immediately trimmed the lead to four but Knoxville made crucial baskets in the final four minutes of the game to pull away for the win. Brad McWilliams said with the style of play South Tama brought…he had to use his bench. Mike Jacks led Knoxville with 18 points, Jamie VanderVeer came off the bench to score 12 points. Knoxville is now one-and-one on the season has the same record in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers will also host Pella Christian along with the girls Tuesday night.
