A Knoxville school board member received state recognition for his efforts in taking professional development courses to enhance his experience as a board member. Tim McDonald received an award during the annual Iowa Association of School Boards convention was held last month. McDonald, who is in his third year on the board and second year as board vice-president, has taken courses on board officer training, finance, and the economics of school boards, among others.
