With conditions starting to look and feel more like winter outside, the city of Pella is reminding residents to follow the rules of the city’s snow ordinance when it is activated. Pella Police Lieutenant John Van Haaften says residents can not park along the sides of streets from the time the snow ordinance is activated until it is lifted and says sidewalks need to be cleared within 12 hours after the snowfall has ended. The city of Pella will contact KNIA/KRLS first to inform residents when the snow ordinance is in effect. During severe winter weather, KNIA/KRLS works with the National Weather Service, Weather Eye weather center and local officials for the most up-to-date information.
