Winter has arrived in Marion County. Three and one half inches of snow have fallen in Knoxville with two inches in Pella. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports that roads in the area are 100% snow covered and slick. The Iowa State Patrol reports that travel conditions throughout the area are difficult. Marion County, Pella, Knoxville and Iowa DOT snow plows are in service. There are no snow ordinances in effect in Marion County this morning. Please give our road crews and first responders plenty of room to work safely, and take extra time to get to your destination today. Tonight another stronger storm is likely with possible blizzard conditions arriving Tuesday night and Wednesday.
