The Pella wrestling team will wrestle their first dual meet of the season tonight when they host LHC rival Knoxville. Pella hasn’t seen much action on the mats so far with their only meet coming last Saturday where they placed ninth at the Dallas Center Grimes tournament. Knoxville has a little more experience as they’ve wrestled two duals and one tournament so far this season. Pella coach Joe Burch says Knoxville beat them twice in close matches last year and feels they match up very well again this season. Burch says it looks like Pella will have a couple open weight classes tonight, so they’ll need to wrestle well to make up those points to have a chance at winning the dual. The JV matches will start at 6:30pm followed by the varsity matches at Pella High School.
