Central College’s dance team recently earned two first-place trophies in their second year of competition at the Tommie Invitational at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. The team won the hip-hop and pom categories, and also placed fifth in the jazz division. Pella High School graduates Cassie Elsloo and Mollie Kingma are both freshmen on the team.

Central’s dance team also competed earlier this month at the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association competition in Des Moines, which featured several area high schools as well. In February, the team will perform in the annual Central College Dance Classic, which will also include special guests from the PCM High School, among others.
