Skilled Care patients at Pella Regional Health Center will begin moving into the hospital’s renovated Skilled Care Unit Wednesday. Previously they had been receiving care and treatment as part of Pella Regional’s Long-Term Care Unit. Hospital spokeswoman Billie Rhamy says the renovated wing will feature more space, a designated staff, and improved facilities for patients.

Skilled Care patients are typically those recovering from surgery or long-term illness and often undergo physical and/or occupational therapy treatments in the Skilled Care Unit. The renovated wing at Pella Regional Health Center includes 15 patient rooms, must of which are single occupancy.
