Knoxville used runs of 16-0 and 12-1 to distance itself from Norwalk by a score of 57-35 in girls basketball last night. Norwalk scored the first points of the game, but Knoxville then responded with 16 unanswered points. The Panthers were up by 14 at halftime.

In the second half, Norwalk cut the lead to 10 points at the 27-17 mark, but Knoxville answered again; this time with a 12-1 run. Coach Jim Utimarkt says scoring points in bunches has been a trademark of the team for a while now.

Knoxville had three players score in double figures, led by Sam Abens with 15 points. Knoxville is now 8-0 on the season and will finish its pre-Christmas schedule against Chariton on Monday.
