The Pella boys basketball team ended a long losing streak to Pella Christian in impressive fashion last night, as they completely dominated from the opening tip on their way to a 65-44 win. The Little Dutch exploded out to a 15-2 lead after one quarter and built that to 39-15 at halftime as Pella had the hot shooting hand and played a very aggressive, in-your-face defense that forced Pella Christian into 20 first half turnovers.

Pella Head Coach Mark Core said as impressive as the start by Pella was, he was most impressed with how they kept up the intensity all game long and never let the Eagles back in the game. Pella Christian Head Coach Larry Hessing said Pella just flat outplayed them; especially early on, and they struggled to match that intensity.

Pella had 10 players score in the game led by Deckar Lynch with 14 points, Nathan Buchheit scored 11 and Blaine Forsythe added 11. Pella Christian was led by Jon Holwerda with 11 points and Alex Branderhorst with 10. Pella Christian falls to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, while Pella improved to 5-1 overall and 5-0 in the LHC and heads into the holiday break tied with Norwalk for the top spot in the conference.
