The Pella girls basketball team counts on a suffocating defense to win games, but the offense for the Lady Dutch hasn’t been too shabby either. Through seven games, Pella leads the Little Hawkeye Conference with a scoring average of 55.4 points per game, and they’ve been getting a lot of the work done early. Of the 388 total points scored this season, 228 – or roughly 59 percent of their scoring output – has been done in the first and second quarters. Just as impressive is the fact that despite leading the LHC in offense per game, the Pella girls have no player averaging double figures in scoring, but instead have seven that contribute between 6.3 and 8.3 points per game. The Lady Dutch are 6-1 at the Holiday break and will resume the season on January 5th.
