The Pella boys picked up right where they left off before the holiday break with a lightning fast start jumping out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back in a 65-to-38 win over Knoxville. Knoxville got the lead down to eight a couple of minutes into the third quarter but a stingy Pella defense forced several Panther turnovers and Pella built the lead back to 20 heading into the final period. Pella Coach Mark Core said their offense struggled throughout the game but their defense more than made up for it. Knoxville Coach Brad McWilliams said Pella’s speed was tough to handle. Pella once again had great balance with nine players scoring led by Dekar Lynch with 19 points, 12 of which came in teh second half. Knoxville was lead by Kaleb Robuck with nine points. Pella improved to 6-1 overall and 6-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Knoxville is now one-and-seven on the season and one-and-five in Little Hawkeye Conference play. Pella is off until Saturday when they host PCM, then they host Norwalk next Tuesday.
