As we are on the downside of the latest winter storm, the snow is over for now, but the cold weather and below wind chill values are not. Actual temperatures this weekend will drop to single digits below zero with wind chill readings as low as 30 below. But believe it or not, it has been worse. The record low in Knoxville for January 9th is 18 degrees below zero, set in 1977 and the record high for today was set in 2003 at 68 degrees. The good news is things are supposed to get better with a high of 20 forecasted for Sunday. And with respect to travel, normal winter driving conditions exist.
