Last Tuesday, Governor Chet Culver announced twenty-three transportation infrastructure projects in the state worth nearly $14 million combined that had been let by the Iowa Department of Transportation, including one project in Pella. The projects are all funded in total or part through state or federal stimulus funding. According to Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini, the accepted bid on the street project in Pella came in at just over $280,000 from Norris Asphalt Paving Company of Ottumwa. Nardini says it’s important that residents know that 100% of the project will be covered by Federal dollars. The work will include milling and asphalt resurfacing of approximately eight blocks of Oskaloosa Street
