The Knoxville boys won for just the second time this season as the Panthers beat Grinnell 59-52 last night. The back and fourth game had six ties and 14 lead changes the last coming with 7:41 left when Knoxville’s Jamie VanderVeer nailed a three pointer to give Knoxville a 40/39 lead. He would then on the next possession drill another three-ball to get the lead to four. Knoxville had the lead to as high as ten before Grinnell game back to within three but free throw shooting by Mike Jacks and Blake McWilliams sealed the game. Jacks led with 19 points as Knoxville improves to 2-8 on the season and 2-5 in the conference play. The Panthers host Carlisle today in a freshman/J-V/Varsity triple header starting at two.
