The Pella Christian boys dominated South Tama 82-54 last night. The Eagles led 24-eight after six minutes…and built a halftime lead of 51-29. Despite the large cushion… Coach Larry Hessing felt his guys weren’t playing unselfish basketball in the first half… and challenged them to do so in the second half. They responded with a 20-to-nothing run to start the third quarter to put the game away. All five Eagles starters scored in double figures…led by Kyle Nikkel’s 18 points and 8 rebounds. Sam Tvedt chipped in 13…Jon Holwerda scored 12…and Chase Carlson and Alex Branderhorst scored 10 each. Pella Christian is nine-and-two on the season and six-and-two in the L-H-C.
