Knoxville Girls Basketball Coach Jim Utiermarkt knew it would be a tough matchup with South Tama last night. He was also concerned out the size disadvantage his team had against a much taller Trojan team. His fears quickly subsided as Knoxville went on a 19/two run in the first and second quarters to build a 31/ten halftime lead and cruise to a 56-to-37 victory. Utiermarkt was very proud of the way his team played defensively. Sam Abens led the Panthers with 19 points on five-of-six from three point range…while Lacy Stevenson poured in 18 points. Knoxville is now 12-and-oh on the season and eight-and-oh in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
