Any coach will tell you that to be successful at the varsity level it takes more than just the starters or players who rotate in regularly off the bench. Someone needs to push them and challenge them in practices and alot of times those are younger players who get overlooked and don’t usually get alot of minutes in a varsity game. With lopsided wins in their last couple of games the Pella girls have been able to get several of those girls in the game and that’s something Head Coach Jarod Garland likes to see: Sophomores Ragen Cooper, Kim Korver and Madeline Meyer each played most of the fourth quarter in the big win over Oskaloosa Tuesday night and made the most of it as Cooper scored 5 points, Meyer had 4 and Korver added 2. Coach Garland says its always nice to get those girls in the game when possible because they work so hard in practices
