South Central Iowa experienced many power outages overnight due to the ice storm. Approximately 900 people in Marion County were without power. Hunters Ridge near Pella and several electrical co-op customers in the Pella area also experienced outages. The majority of residents in Monroe were out of power for several hours Wednesday evening. One apartment building in Pleasantville was without power Wednesday night due to a transmitter explosion. There were reports of a line down at Metcalf corner, causing T-15 to be closed between Knoxville and Pella for approximately 45 minutes this morning. T-15 is now open.
