The Knoxville Police Department has released its end of the year statistics for 2009 and the past decade. In 2009, police calls dropped by 8% from 2008 to 6114, which is 4% below average. Total arrests increased by 19 from 2008 and parking tickets dropped from 797 to 497. Reported accidents increased for the first time in three years, and drunken driving arrests increased to a decade high of 52 for the year.
