The Knoxville girls traded in their black and gold for seom pink uniforms last night for Coaches vs. Cancer night and it was still the same outcome as the Panthers blasted Newton 51-to-26. Knoxville took about five minutes to get going as Newton held an 8-4 lead midway through the first quarter and was being very deliberate on offense. But Knoxville closed the first quarter on an 11-2 run and slowly built the lead to its final margin of 25. Knoxville’s balanced scoring was led by Alex Abens and her 14 points…sister Sam had 13. Assistant Coach Jeff Larson said it’s not just a two or three player team as evident in the balance last night. Knoxville moves to 14-0 on the season and 10-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference play. The Panthers travel to Oskaloosa on Friday.
