The Pella boys had no trouble with South Tama last night jumping out to a lead early and never looked back on their way to a commanding 79-42 win. Pella led 17-6 after one quarter and extended that lead to 39-19 at halftime. South Tama committed six turnovers in the first two minutes of the thrid quarter and that allowed Pella a quick start to the second half as they outscored the Trojans 23-9 in the third quarter on their way to the win. Coach Mark Core said even though the score may not indicate it he thought South Tama played better this time than last time but so did Pella. Nathan Buchheit returned after missing the last two games with an injury to lead Pella with 18 points, Blaine Forsythe had 13 and Matt Dowie and Nick Dorman each added 10 points as Pella improved to 11-2 on the season and 9-1 in the LHC. Pella is home to host Grinnell on Friday night.
