Mark Holan’s hot touch from beyond the arc helped push the Central College men’s basketball team in front of Buena Vista University down the stretch of a tightly contested match-up, as the Dutch defeated the Beavers 67-57 last night. Holan knocked down six three pointers as part of a career-high 24 points to lead Central past the defending Iowa Conference champions.

The Dutch also got double-digit point totals out of Loren Liming and Miguel Ley, while gritty defensive play in the backcourt helped keep the Beavers offense in check. The win improves the Central to 15-4 overall and 8-2 in league play. The Dutch will host another conference title contender on Saturday when Wartburg visits Pella.
