The Central College women’s basketball team played a strong second half last night, but a 26-point deficit through the first twenty minutes was too much for the Dutch to overcome, as they fell to Buena Vista University 93-73. Despite the lopsided loss, there were several promising signs for the Central women, including placing four players in double figures and committing only four turnovers in the second half.

Leading the way for the Dutch was Pella native Haley Brillhart, whose big night included 22 points, 13 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks. The loss dropped the Central women to 2-17 and 1-9 in conference play, with a home meeting with Wartburg coming up on Saturday.
