After back to back last second road wins the Pella girls return to their home floor tonight to host Grinnell. Traditionally the Tigers give Pella a battle because they’re a very scrappy team and they always make it a goal of theirs to beat Pella. Pella beat the Tigers in Grinnell 52-36 earlier in the season and hopes to complete the sweep tonight. Pella Coach Jarod Garland says Grinnell didn’t shoot the ball very well in that first meeting and he’s expecting a tough challenge from them tonight. Pella enters the game 11-2 overall and 9-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference while Grinnell is 8-7 overall and 4-5 in the LHC. The girls game tips off at 6:15pm.

The Pella boys are hoping to keep their momentum going tonight when they host Grinnell. Leading scorer Nathan Buchheit returned to the lineup Tuesday at South Tama and Coach Mark Core says it’s great to have him back on the floor. Pella beat the Tigers in Grinnell earlier this season 54-42 and Grinnell is struggling as of late losing six of their last eight games but Coach Mark Core says none of that really matters, it’s whoever plays the best four quarters tonight that will win the game and he says Pella will have to be ready for a challenge. Pella is 11-2 on the season and 9-1 in the LHC while Grinnell is 8-7 overall and 3-6 in LHC play. You can hear both games streamed live tonight on kniakrls.com with Jamie Brockman and Randy Sikkema calling the action. There will also be a delayed broadcast of both games starting around 10pm tonight on 92.1 FM KRLS
