Ulrich Ford Lincoln Mercury of Pella and KNIA/KRLS have selected the February winner of the Teacher of the Month honor. The latest recipient is Mrs. Mary Wisniewski, a pre-kindergarten teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Pella. Wisniewski was nominated, in part, for her attitude and passion for making learning fun for children. As part of the award, Wisniewski will receive $250 for Lincoln Elementary School and the use of a vehicle for a month. Nominations for the Ulrich Ford Lincoln Mercury Radio Teacher of the Month can be submitted via e-mail to teacher@kniakrls.com.

Her nomination –

“I am writing this part as a parent and the second part as a coworker.

My son has Mary Wisniewski as a Pre Kindergarten teacher this year.  He loves school and cannot wait to go.  He gets up in the morning and starts asking, “Is it time to go to school yet?”  He loves every minute of it.  I asked him why Mrs. W should get this award and he responded with, “She has fun toys in the room and cool markers.”  I asked him what makes school so great for you?  He said, “I don’t know it just makes me feel good.”  Sending my five year old to school was a scary experience and having a teacher that shows me she loves my son and wants the best for him is an answered prayer.  Mary Wisniewski takes the time to write personal notes home for my son.  She welcomes him every day with a smile and open arms.  She loves her job and gets a joy out of teaching.  Mary deserves this reward because she is an outstanding teacher.  Everyone who meets her loves her.

Mary has been a coworker of mine for several years.  Her attitude about school is contagious.  She is always laughing and talking about how much she loves her job.  She loves the kids and excepts them at whatever level they are.  She works hard to have them love school and learn a lot.  Mary deserves this award because she has a great heart and cares about every person she meets.”
