Two area athletes have been named Midwest Colligate Conference Athletes of the Week in their respective sports.  Knoxville’s Beth Ripperger, who attends Mount Mercy College was named the Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.  She won the 1,000 meters and set a new school record in a time of three minutes six-point-six/one seconds and reached the B qualifying standard set by the N-A-I-A.  She was also on the four-by-400 meter relay team that also set a new school record.  Also, former P-C-M standout athlete Grant Burns was named men’s basketball player of the week.  The Grand View player averaged 13 points and 11 assists in three games last week.  He also shot 52-percent from the field and 76-percent from the free throw line.
