The Knoxville Girls suffered their first loss of the season 53-44 to Norwalk last night. The Panthers found themselves down by as many as 15 points early on…but were able to close the gap to eight at the half and even got it down to four midway through the third quarter. Coach Jim Utiermarkt said each time the girls got close the lead would increase back up to nine or ten points, Alex Abens led Knoxville for the second straight game as she scored 15 points. One bright spot on the night, Sam Abens became the all-time leading scorer in five-on-five history breaking the mark held by Kaylee Modlin. Knoxville is now 17-1 on the season and 11-1 one in the Little Hawkeye Conference, the Panthers host Pella on Friday as once again first place and a likely conference title on the line.
