The Pella girls and boys have a scheduled night off tonight as they continue preparations for Friday’s big games at Norwalk. For the girls it will be their final regular season game as they begin post season play next Wednesday, and for the boys it’s a chance to earn a share of or win the outright Little Hawkeye Conference title. Pella Coach Mark Core says the first game was so close and could have went either way and he feels they can beat the Warriors if they are able to play their game. He says one area they must improve on is free throws which could be crucial in a game like this. He says all season that’s been one area where Pella seems to consistently be behind in the numbers. He says they need to commit less fouls and concentrate on getting to the line more frequently themselves. Pella’s lone conference loss came earlier in the season at home by just three points to Norwalk while the Warriors are undefeated and ranked number one in Class 3A. Pella is off tonight while Norwalk is scheduled to play at Pella Christian. If Pella wins at Norwalk Friday they would earn a share of the LHC title, however if Norwalk would also fall tonight at Pella Christian the Little Dutch would be outright LHC champs.
