The Pella girls cruised to victory using a late second quarter and impressive third quarter run to beat Bondurant Farrar 50-25 in the Class 3A Regional Semi Final Saturday night. [simage=1622,200,y,right]
Pella led just 13-10 after one quarter but a late second quarter run helped them gain a 28-17 halftime lead. The Lady Dutch kpet that momentun rolling in the third quarter holding Bondurant Farrar scoreless for 6:47 while outscoring them 14-1 to blow the game open. Pella Coach Jarod Garland said their i9ntensity on defense was the difference maker.
Offensively Pella was led by Lindsay Bentzinger who erupted for 20 points, including four three pointers, Courtney Kelderman and Kelsey Fynaardt each scored seven points. With the win Pella improved to 18-4 on the season and moves on to their fourth straight Regional Final where they will face defending state champions Ballard at Saydel Tuesday night. With a win Pella will earn their fourth straight trip to state and their eighth in the past ten seasons.
