Tomorrow night the Pella boys will make their return to the State Tournament for the first time since 2007 when they take on Forest City in the opening round of Class 3A.

Pella coach Mark Core says from what they’ve seen on film Forest City will be very aggressive defensively:

“They (Forest City) run kind of a zone scramble or zone press where unlike some zones that are more concerned with packing it in and forcing outside shots they’re more looking to force you into the corners where they can set up a trap then look to create steals so we’re going to have to be strong with our ball control and have the mindset that we’re going to defeat their pressure, get the ball inside and hopefully get good, wide open shots. If not we need to be crashing the glass hard to create extra posessions and multiple opportunities to score”

Tickets for tomorrow’s game will be on sale both today and tomorrow from 8am-4:30pm at Pella High School. All tickets are general admission and will cost $8.00 each with 25 cents from each ticket sold going to Pella High School. You can hear tomorrow night’s game live with Jamie Brockman and Randy Sikkema on 92.1 FM KRLS starting with the pre game at 6pm and tip off just after 6:30pm from Wells Fargo Arena. We are unable to stream the game live on kniakrls.com due to regulations by the Iowa High School Sports Network.
