Even with a disappointing end to the season Knoxville Wrestling Coach Eric Whitcome says overall it was an improved season. He says many of his wrestlers won 20 matches or more, and they had a better showing in both the Little Hawkeye Conference regular season and tournament. He says with nearly all of the varsity positions back next season, Whitcome thinks the guys can challenge for a top tier spot at the conference. He adds the guys have already set a goal of getting no fewer than five qualifiers to the state meet next season, The Panthers were shut out of a state tournament qualifier this season.
